Ernst Loessnitzer

Ernst Lößnitzer (born March 11, 1852 in Dresden , † July 8, 1928 in Dresden) was a German cook and founder of an orderly professional training program for chefs.

Life

Ernst Lößnitzer completed an apprenticeship as a cook and master chef in Dresden. From 1900 he worked as a teacher at the higher hotel management school in Buchholz - Friedewald near Dresden. This was the first technical school for hospitality and was founded by the Dresdner Gastwirtsverein in 1876. It became a model for the later catering trade school system in Germany.

Lößnitzer co-founded the Dresden cookery, which appointed him in 1906 as head master and later honorary master.

As the main organizer of the 2nd German Culinary Art Exhibition in 1909, he helped make it a great success.

He made his great expertise in the field of gastronomy accessible to the next generation of professionals through numerous specialist books.

The "German dictionary" contributed to the fact that there was a better spelling of the menus and menus in the restaurants.
