Ernst Lienhop

Ernst Lienhop (born January 22, 1885 in Eschenhausen ; † December 26, 1970 ) was a German Lutheran theologian and state superintendent for the Verden-Hoya district of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover .

Life

After graduating from high school, Lienhop studied theology at a Bremen grammar school and attended the seminary in Osnabrück in 1910 . On May 1, 1912 he was ordained as pastor of the Hanoverian regional church and initially received positions as a cemetery collaborator in Hanover-Stöcken and permanent collaborator in Nendorf, based in Raddestorf. In 1914 he became the second pastor of the German Lutheran congregation in Cape Town . In 1915 he returned to Germany and took up a position as a pastor coop. in Salzgitter . After a short period as an assistant chaplain in Döhren , based in Laatzen, he was given the second parish in Salzgitter in 1916. In 1924 he became a pastor in Wilstedt . Regional Bishop August Marahrens appointed him in 1936 as state superintendent of the newly created state superintendent Verden-Hoya based in Oiste , where he was also introduced as pastor. On November 1, 1953, Lienhop retired as state superintendent, but remained in charge of the pastoral office in Oiste until further notice.
