Ernst Maug

Ernst Maug (born May 11, 1962 in Ibbenbüren , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German economist. He holds the chair for corporate finance at the University of Mannheim .

education

Ernst Maug studied until 1988 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main Economics and received his degree in 1988 for there Economics graduate . He then did his Master of Science ( M.Sc. ) in Econometrics and Business Mathematics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 1990 and also received his PhD in 1993 from the LSE with a Ph.D. as statements.

Professional background

After completing his PhD, Maug worked at the London Business School as an assistant professor of finance from 1993 to 1996 and then moved to the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University , where he also worked in the position of junior professor of finance from 1996 to 2000. Ultimately, Maug was promoted to Adjunct Professor of Business Administration (BWL) at Fuqua Business School in 2000 , a position he held until 2005. At the same time, Maug had held the Rudolf von Bennigsen Foerder Professorship at the Humboldt University in Berlin since 2000 , a position he held until 2006.

Maug has also been a researcher at the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) since 2002. In March 2005, Maug was visiting professor at the University of Paris IX Dauphine . In 2006 he took over the chair for corporate finance at the University of Mannheim , which he still holds today. From 2005 to 2008 Maug also worked on the program committee of the German Finance Association . In 2008 Maug was a visiting scholar at the University of New South Wales .
