Ernst Rubow

Ernst Wilhelm Friedrich Rubow (born July 11, 1880 in Rostock , † July 4, 1958 in Stendal ) was a German educator, historian and geographer.

Life

Ernst Rubow was active in the school service and also devoted himself to historical and geographical issues. So he gave u. a. a “home calendar for the Greifswald and Grimmen districts”.

Rubow worked closely with the Greifswald historian Fritz Curschmann . A jointly developed colored overview map of the Pomeranian acquis caused a sensation at an international historians' congress in Warsaw in 1933 and thus contributed to the development of a historical map of Pomerania , which was funded by the National History Research Center of the Province of Pomerania . After being interrupted by the Second World War , Rubow continued his research.

In the 1950s, Ernst Rubow worked with his wife Marianne Rubow-Kalähne on the drawing together and translation of the Swedish matriculation cards for Western Pomerania .
