Ernst Ruckensteiner

Ernst Ruckensteiner (born March 1, 1899 in Czernowitz , Galicia , † August 18, 1970 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian radiologist .

Ruckensteiner in 1924 at the University of Innsbruck Dr. med. doctorate and habilitation in 1937 at the same university. From 1929 to 1954 Ruckensteiner worked in Vienna and Innsbruck as an X-ray assistant and from 1943 as a lecturer in medical radiology . From 1954 to 1961 he was associate professor and from 1961 to 1968 full professor of radiology at the University of Innsbruck. Ruckensteiner published numerous publications, including a paleopathological report. He was a member and temporarily president of the Austrian Roentgen Society . He was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art, 1st Class .
