Ernst Schlee (pedagogue)
Ernst Schlee (born March 27, 1834 , † December 6, 1905 ) was a German reform pedagogue in Altona.
In 1871 he was the founder of the oldest German reform school and the Altona school system and director of the Realgymnasium in Altona . As a pioneer of modern language teaching in Prussia, he achieved the Abitur without Latin and Greek.
A memorial stone in the Schleepark named after him , a public park along Struenseestrasse in Altona, commemorates Ernst Schlee . The Ernst-Schlee-Gymnasium named after him was closed in 1997.
