history

In 1920 Jean Sessler founded the locksmith's shop in Zurich . In 1948 Ernst Schweizer took over the management. After the death of the company founder, he bought the company in 1965. From 1977 his son Hans Ruedi Schweizer built up the solar energy division.

In the years 1970–1980 the company developed the insulated window and facade system as well as the first wood / metal window systems. In addition, there were the first solar panels as well as a mailbox and depot box.

Fire doors, insulated and uninsulated folding glass walls and the Infoconcept orientation system followed between 1980 and 1990 .

In the years between 1990 and 2000 there were structural changes, so the assets and employees of Meko Fenster AG were taken over, as was the facade construction division of Karl Steiner Industrie AG . During the same period, the first solar energy facade, roof-integrated solar collectors and the roof-integrated photovoltaic mounting system Solrif were introduced.

Between 2000 and 2010 the company developed new Minergie facades and Tobler Metallbau AG was taken over.

From 2010, Schweizer launched facades with photovoltaic modules , all-glass sliding and folding walls and the new Minergie-P -certified sliding door on the market. In addition, the assets and employees of Siebag AG were taken over , DOMA Solartechnik GmbH in Satteins (Austria) and the MSP series of photovoltaic mounting systems were purchased . The Schweizer AG launched its first parcel box system at Swissbau 2014.
