Ernst Thierbach (theologian)

Ernst Thierbach (full name Joachim Christoph Ernst Thierbach * 10. October 1768 in Auleben at Schwarzenburg , † 12. December 1851 in Frankenhausen in Schwarzenburg) was a German theologian , Princely schwarzburgisch-Rudolstädter consistory , Superintendent , Pastor and textbook - author .

life and work

Ernst Thierbach wrote several textbooks in the 1830s and 1840s , including the textbook on catechetics , which was first published in Hanover in 1830 by the Hahnschen Hofbuchhandlung , and which was later published in several parts in a new edition in Leipzig . In 1830 the theologian Karl August Rütenick wrote a review of Thierbach's textbook in the journal Theological Studies and Critics .

In addition, Thierbach published on religious instruction and often in Sondershausen in the Eupelsche Hofbuchhandlung .

In 1833, Thierbach, as pastor, gave a printed sermon after the storm and the conflagration that broke out in Frankenhausen on the night of February 15 that year.
