Ernst Thoma (Manager)

Ernst Thoma (born May 31, 1934 in Nuremberg ) is a German manager .

Life

Thoma did his Abitur at the Willstätter Gymnasium in Nuremberg , studied technical physics at the Technical University of Munich until 1960 and then worked for two years at Heraeus in Hanau . In 1962 he started at Leonische Drahtwerke AG as assistant to his father Georg Thoma. Two years later he received power of attorney , became a deputy board member in 1968 and a full board member in 1970. In 1977, like his father and grandfather, he became Chairman of the Board of Directors and resigned from this post in 2002. In 1983 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon , in 1986 the State Medal for special services to the Bavarian economy , in 1997 the Federal Cross of Merit 1st class, in 2000 the Bavarian Order of Merit and in 2001 the IHK medal for special services to the Central Franconian economy. He was then chairman of the supervisory board of Leoni AG from 2002 to 2007.
