Ernst von Angerer

Lorenz Ludwig Maximilian Ernst von Angerer (born February 2, 1881 in Würzburg , † February 20, 1951 in Munich ) was a German physicist. He was the son of the surgeon Ottmar von Angerer .

Ernst von Angerer studied physics in Munich, Würzburg and Göttingen. In 1905 he received his doctorate with Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen with the thesis Bolometric investigations on the energy of X-rays . From 1907 to 1911 he was Röntgen's assistant in Munich.

In 1912 he became a curator and in 1931 chief curator at the Physics Institute of the Technical University of Munich . Angerer completed his habilitation in 1921 with the work Experimental Contributions to the Propagation of Sound in the Free Atmosphere. A registering string galvanometer with a high registration speed .

In 1927 he became an associate professor.

Angerer's research areas were cathode rays as well as atomic and molecular spectra. He also dealt scientifically and artistically with photography.
