Ernst von Niebelschütz

Ernst von Niebelschütz (born February 25, 1879 in Frankfurt an der Oder , † February 12, 1946 in Magdeburg ) was a German art historian , editor and writer . He was special representative of the state curator of the Prussian province of Saxony and is the father of the writer Wolf von Niebelschütz . His scientific legacy is now administered in the Saxony-Anhalt State Archives .

Life

He was born on February 25, 1879 in Frankfurt an der Oder as the eldest son of the Kgl. prussia. Captain Hans Hugo Nicolaus (Claus) von Niebelschütz (1853–1898), born on Dahme ( Wohlau district , Silesia), Tschistey ( Guhrau district , Silesia), Sandewalde and Klein-Beltsch, and Helene von Görne (1855–1932). He was an officer during the First World War and achieved the rank of major. He died on February 12, 1946 in Magdeburg as a result of suffering he had suffered during military service. He was married to Elisabeth von Dechend (1888–1968) since January 28, 1908 and had 5 children with her. He was an honorary member of the advisory board of the Metschlau Family Foundation.
