Errol Brown
Lester Errol Brown , MBE (born November 12, 1943 in Kingston , Jamaica , † May 6, 2015 in the Bahamas ) was a Jamaican-British pop singer .
Career
Errol Brown was one of the founders of Hot Chocolate in London in 1969 . He stayed there until the mid-1980s as a singer and songwriter . His greatest successes with Hot Chocolate include You Sexy Thing , Every 1's a Winner , So You Win Again and Emma .
Since leaving the band in 1985, he has performed solo and has been involved in music projects with various artists. He worked with Dieter Bohlen , among others , and was honored by Queen Elisabeth II with the Order of the British Empire in 2003 . His debut album as a soloist was called That's How Love Is . It was produced by Tony Swain and Steve Jolley , who later worked for Spandau Ballet , Bananarama and Alison Moyet .
He was married to Ginette Brown from 1974 and has two grown daughters.
Errol Brown died of liver cancer in his home in the Bahamas in 2015 at the age of 71 .
