The Adult School Bremen (school center for adults) is the second educational path school in Bremen. It combines the main school, secondary school and grammar school courses in day and evening form. So- called e-learning is compulsory at the evening grammar school . The students are on three evenings a week max. 15 school hours in the school, the other subject matter must be processed independently via an online platform and is an integral part of the oral grade.

history

The school was founded in 1947 as a pure evening grammar school and expanded in 1957 with the evening main school and the evening secondary school . In the further course, lessons were also offered in the morning. In 1988, the offer was supplemented by a college and the possibility of external examinations. Since this year the school has been called the Bremen Adult School. In November 1995 the school moved into its own building. Since then, all departments have been under one roof.

building

The adult school in Bremen has been housed in Block A of the former vocational training center (BBZ) since 1995 . The BBZ is regarded throughout Germany as an outstanding example of the architecture of the early 1950s and is now a listed building . In Block A, which was inaugurated in 1954, the still completely preserved ceiling decorations were made by Henry Garde Jr. designed. Between Block A and B there is a memorial to the women's rights activist Agnes Heineken, who died in 1957 .
