Erwin Albert (born March 27, 1954 ) is a former German soccer player and coach.

Player career

Albert's career began with the lower class FC Bundorf . As the top scorer in the Bayern League, he moved from 1. FC Haßfurt to Bundesliga club Hertha BSC in 1977 . Albert was unable to assert himself there and only made two appearances in the first division, which is why he left the club in 1978.

Albert moved to Belgium to KSK Beveren , where he played for eight years and had his most successful period. He won the Belgian championship twice with the Flemings (1979 and 1984). In his first season he was Belgium's top scorer with 28 goals.

In 1986 Albert returned to his homeland in Lower Franconia and played for four years for the Bayern league club 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 , with whom he was promoted to the second division in 1990. However, Albert suffered a broken leg due to a foul in the last and decisive game of the season for the championship against TSV 1860 Munich , whereupon he had to end his playing career.

Coaching career

After his active career, he became a coach at his last professional station in 1992, 1. FC Schweinfurt 05. There he could not assert himself and was dismissed in the second season. After stations in Würzburg (SV Heidingsfeld, Würzburger FV), he coached TSV Großbardorf from 1999 . He stayed there until 2007. After a year break he was hired by 1. FC Sand , where he was under contract until the end of the 2013/2014 season. Albert then ended his coaching career and now works as a banker in a savings bank .
