Erwin Braun (born November 24, 1949 in Duisburg ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The defender Erwin Braun began his career at hamborn 07 in Duisburg , where he debuted in 1967 in the first team, the second-rate in that time Regional League West played. After he had fought for a regular place, Braun moved to VfL Osnabrück in the Regionalliga Nord in 1970 . With the Osnabrückers he became champions a year later, but failed in the promotion round to the Bundesliga at VfL Bochum . In 1972 Erwin Braun moved to DJK Gütersloh in the Regionalliga West, with which he qualified two years later for the newly created 2nd Bundesliga . Since Braun was only used very irregularly, he left Gütersloh in 1974 with an unknown destination.

Erwin Braun played a total of 78 regional league games and scored one goal. Of these, 49 games and the goal were for Hamborn, 13 games for Osnabrück and 16 for Gütersloh. There is also a promotion round game for Osnabrück.
