Erwin Hartmann (physicist)

Erwin Hartmann (born February 24, 1924 in Regensburg ; † June 21, 2012 in Altomünster ) was a German physicist and biophysicist at the Institute for Medical Optics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Life

In 1957 Hartmann was an assistant in the founding team of Herbert Schober , the first director of the Institute for Medical Optics in Munich. In 1962 he wrote his dissertation on the physiological processes involved in glare in the human eye. Hartmann was mainly concerned with investigations into the optimal lighting of vehicles, schools and training places, workplaces and roads / tunnels and was often asked in the media as an expert on optical-medical questions in road traffic .

Erwin Hartmann was buried in Altomünster .
