Erwin Kulzer

Erwin Kulzer (born February 23, 1928 in Kempten ; † March 13, 2014 in Tübingen - Hirschau ) was a German zoologist and long-time professor of zoology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . In 2008 he was honored with the Staufer Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg for his achievements .

He recognized the increasing decline in bats at an early stage and campaigned for the establishment of the Baden-Württemberg Bat Protection Association. In lectures and exhibitions he reported on the behavior and requirements of nocturnal animals. He campaigned for the preservation of sleeping possibilities and hunting areas for bats and published numerous works about it.
