Erwin Schauer

Erwin Schauer (born February 7, 1927 in Markt Piesting ; † April 24, 2006 in Kirchberg in Tirol ) was an Austrian master roofer, businessman and politician ( ÖVP ). Schauer was a member of the National Council and from 1980 to 1986 a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government .

Life

Schauer completed compulsory school and then attended the engineering school for mechanical engineering in Wiener Neustadt. Between 1960 and 1975 he was the provincial guild master for roofers and pavers for Lower Austria and between 1965 and 1975 he also took over the role of federal guild master for roofers and pavers. In 1974 Schauer was elected chief district group chairman Wiener Neustadt of the Austrian Economic Association of the ÖVP and acted as president of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce from 1975 to 1980. Furthermore, Schauer was deputy chairman of the Lower Austria regional group of the Austrian Economic Association in 1976 and was elected to the regional party leadership of the Lower Austrian ÖVP in 1976. Schauer represented the ÖVP from February 1, 1978 to October 21, 1980 as a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament and then held the office of regional councilor in the Lower Austrian state government from October 2, 1980 to May 14, 1986.
