Erwin Umhauer

Erwin Umhauer (born July 31, 1878 in Kürnberg near Schopfheim, † November 15, 1961 in Karlsruhe ) was a German politician ( DVP ).

Career

The doctorate in law was initially Ministerialrat in the Baden Ministry of Justice and after Emil Maier's death from December 1, 1932 until the National Socialists took over the state government on March 10, 1933, Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Baden . After the end of the war he was a lawyer at the Federal Court of Justice .

On July 10, 1932, Umhauer was elected a member of the Baden regional synod and was appointed its president when the synod was constituted on October 4, 1932. He stayed in office until 1960.

He was also a member of the regional council of churches and a judge in church courts.
