Erwin Wehmeier

Erwin Wehmeier (born July 22, 1909 in Herford ; † December 13, 1991 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1956 to 1966 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After elementary school , Erwin Wehmeier attended grammar school and graduated from high school. He then studied law and political science at universities in Bonn, Münster, Berlin and Greifswald. He passed his state examination with a degree in economics and was awarded a doctorate in law and political science (Dr. rer. Pol.). He worked as an assistant at the University of Münster . From 1936 Wehmeier was employed as managing director of a trade organization.

Wehmeier joined the CDU in 1952. In the same year he was elected to the Bielefeld city council. Wehmeier then moved up on March 14, 1956 via the reserve list of the CDU in the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament. In the following state elections in 1958 and 1962 he was re-elected to the state parliament via the CDU state list, he was a member of parliament until July 23, 1966. From July 1962 to July 1966 he was deputy group chairman of the CDU in the state parliament.

Wehmeier was also President of the Westphalian-Lippian Savings Banks and Giro Association and a member of the Broadcasting Council of West German Broadcasting .
