Erythronium multiscapideum is a species of the tooth lily genus( Erythronium ).

features

The onions are 20 to 50 millimeters in size and egg-shaped. Usually one to three daughter onions per parent onion form long, slender runners at the ends. The leaves are 4 to 16 inches long. The leaf blade is more or less lanceolate and marbled with irregular brown and white lines. The leaf margin is entire to wavy. The shaft is 8 to 23 centimeters long. The inflorescence is one to four flowers .

The petals are 16 to 40 millimeters long and broadly lanceolate to elliptical. They are white to cream in color, at the base they are yellow in color. The inner petals are slightly eared at the base. The stamens are 10 to 15 millimeters long. The stamens are less than 0.8 millimeters wide, linear, slender and white. The anthers are white to cream in color. The stylus are 10 to 13 millimeters long and white. The scar is unlapped or has lobes 1 to 4 millimeters long and bent back. The capsules are 2 to 5 centimeters in size and obovate.

The flowering time is in spring from March to April.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.

Occurrence

Erythronium multiscapideum is found in California . The species grows in open forests and on slopes overgrown with bushes at altitudes of 400 to 1000 meters.
