The Erythropotamos ( Greek Ερυθροπόταμος 'red river', Bulgarian Луда река Luda reka 'crazy river', Turkish Küzüldeli Su ) is a river in Greece and Bulgaria , which rises in the Greek Rhodopes south of Mega Derio, flows a short distance through Bulgaria, for example 20 kilometers forms the common border and then flows into the Evros (Mariza) at Didymoticho after a total of about 100 kilometers .
The course of the river is located entirely on the Greek side in the Thracian regional district of Evros ; the Bulgarian shares belong to the municipality of Ivaylovgrad in Chaskovo Oblast . In Bulgaria, the Luda reka flows through the largely abandoned villages of Gorno Lukowo and Dolno Lukowo (Upper and Lower Lukowo) as well as Siw Kladenez and receives the tributary Bjala reka ('White River'). The municipality of Mandritsa is affected, among other things .
