The Archbishop's Seminary St. Pirmin was a Catholic college in Sasbach in the Ortenau . The college of the St. Pirmin seminar was a state-recognized institution of the second educational path and led to general university entrance qualification ( Abitur ) in four years .

The seminary was founded in 1959 as an educational facility for young men who, after completing practical vocational training, had decided to take their high school diploma in order to become priests . Many priests who work in the Archdiocese of Freiburg received their basis for their theology studies and pastoral service here. In accordance with the church's development, the seminar was also open to those applicants who were still looking for a career decision. The college was closely linked to the Lender home school in Sasbach. The teachers who taught at the college also came from there.

Edgar Eisele was the rector of the house from 2000 to October 2014.

From the 2013/14 school year, the seminar was gradually closed. New students were no longer accepted. At the end of the 2013/14 school year, the seminar only had twelve students; at the end of the 2015/16 school year it was completely closed.

As in the times of the fall of the Iron Curtain, when GDR refugees and then German immigrants from the Soviet states found refuge in the seminar, the so-called "new building" of the seminar was also used as a refugee reception center from 2013 to 2016. This building was demolished in February / March 2017. The empty "old building" was demolished only a few months later.

A supermarket and apartment buildings were built in place of the seminar.
