Escola Portuguesa de Arte Equestre

The Escola Portuguesa de Arte Equestre (Portuguese School of Equestrian Art) was founded in 1979, but traditionally it has a forerunner school from the 18th century, the Academia Equestre da Corte Portuguesa . She has dedicated herself to the care of the high school ( classical equestrian art ) with Iberian horses.

Since 1996, the school has been located in the National Palace in Queluz . In 2015 the company moved to Belém in the west of Lisbon . In 2006 the riding staff comprised 17 riders under the direction of J. Filipe Figueiredo, and in 2016 12 riders under Joao Pedro Rodrigues.

At the beginning of 2016 the founder of the school, Dr. Guilherme Borba.

It reports to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forests.
