Queluz ( port. For "what a light!") Is a Portuguese city and belongs to the district Sintra . The city has 78,040 inhabitants on an area of 7 km² and is located around 15 km northwest of Lisbon .

The city ( Cidade ) was formed on July 24, 1997 from the three municipalities of Massamá 28,176 inhabitants (2001) , Monte Abraão 22,041 inhabitants (2001) and the municipality of the same name from Queluz. The municipality of Queluz had an area of 3.6 km² and 27,913 inhabitants (2001) .
The name of the city goes back to the local castle of Queluz , which had been the summer residence of the Braganza royal family since the middle of the 18th century .
Since the regional reform of September 29, 2013 , Queluz belongs administratively to the municipality of Queluz e Belas .
