Eskobar is a Swedish indie pop - band .

history

At the end of 1996 Daniel Bellqvist ( vocals ), Frederik Zäll ( guitar ) and Robert Birming ( drums ) founded the band Eskobar in Åkersberga, Sweden. The style was strongly influenced by Britpop with a melancholy touch. In 2000 they released their first album, Til We're Dead . The character is very calm and melancholy. In 2002, the successor, There's Only Now , was released, which was more pop and commercial. The album also includes a duet with Heather Nova ( Someone New ).

In 2004, A Thousand Last Chances was followed by the third and again somewhat rockier studio album, from which the single Love Strikes had been released in advance . In the same year they released a cover version of Richard Sanderson's hit Reality , which was celebrated in the 1980s and appeared exclusively on the soundtrack of the film Kleinruppin forever .

In 2006 the band released their fourth, self-titled album. It was the first that the band released on their own record label.

On September 11th, 2009 Robert Birming announced his departure from the band.

On March 28, 2017, the group announced on their Facebook page that they have a new drummer, Joacim "Jocke" Brunnberg.
