Espiga Dorada El Salvador

The Espiga Dorada (Golden Needle) was an annual award given as a tribute to outstanding athletes and athletes in El Salvador as part of a Gala del deporte (sports gala).

The athletes of the year were honored in various categories in 31 sports . Likewise, the work of the trainers and managers was selected by the Organizing Committee of the ILC and the Círculo de Informadores Deportivos (CID) group of the country. The prize was awarded for the first time in 1981. The ceremony as part of the sports gala took place in April and May of each year. The last award of the Espiga Dorada took place in 2009 in San Salvador . The main sponsor of the sports gala was Industrias La Constancia , the largest brewery in El Salvador.
