Jacinto Rigoberto Gomes de Deus (born March 6, 1965 in Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of the Congresso Nacional da Reconstrução Timorense (CNRT) party.

Career

Rigoberto came to the technical school in Dili during the Portuguese colonial days , but in 1976 he switched to a primary school in Atsabe , which he finished in 1981. Rigoberto went to the secondary school of the seminary of Peter and Paul (Dili) and in 1986 switched to the secondary school in Becora (Dili). From 1989 to 1992 he finally studied business administration at Udayana University in Bali . During his studies, Rigoberto was active in the Resistência Nacional dos Estudantes de Timor-Leste RENETIL (National Resistance of Students from Timor-Leste).

From 1993 to 1998 Rigoberto took part in an office management program for the Australian government. For this he worked in Indonesia and Thailand . In April 1999, he was working for refugees in Suai . From May 1999 Rigoberto worked at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta . From 2007 to 2012 he was State Secretary for Social Welfare and Natural Disasters in the fourth East Timor government . From 2012 to 2015 Rigoberto was Vice Minister for Social Solidarity. In 2015 he was replaced by Miguel Manetelu .

In 2017 Rigoberto was elected one of the Deputy General Secretaries of the CNRT at the party congress. In the parliamentary elections on July 22, 2017 , Rigoberto was elected to the National Parliament of East Timor as a member of the CNRT's 7th list. There he was Vice-Chairman of the Commission for Economy and Development (Commission D). After the dissolution of parliament, Rigoberto took eighth place in the new elections on May 12, 2018 for the Aliança para Mudança e Progresso (AMP), to which the CNRT also belongs, and moved back into parliament. Since Rigoberto was intended for the office of Vice Minister for Trade, Industry , Tourism and Environment in the Eighth Constitutional Government of East Timor , he gave up his seat in parliament. But then President Francisco Guterres refused his appointment. Proceedings against Rigoberto for illegal party financing due to a statute of limitations were closed in 2017.
