List of East Timor’s Tourism Ministers
This is a list of the East Timorese tourism ministers ( Portuguese: Ministro do Turismo ; tetum Ministru Turizmu ), or the ministers responsible for this department. In addition, the deputy ministers and state secretaries subordinate to the Ministry of Tourism are indicated , if provided as an office .
Assignment of the department
The “Tourism” department was run alternately as an independent ministry or in connection with “ Trade and Industry ” or art and culture . Between 2005 and 2007 no office in the East Timorese cabinet was given “tourism” as a special task. Most recently, Ágio Pereira , Minister of State and Minister of the Council of Ministers , temporarily led tourism, trade and industry as a combined ministry until he resigned in 2020. An independent tourism ministry had already been planned beforehand. The planned position of Vice Minister for Tourism has also not yet been filled.
