List of Finance Ministers of East Timor
This is a list of the Finance Ministers of East Timor (officially: Minister of Planning and Finance; Portuguese Ministro do Plano e Finanças ; tetum Ministru Planu no Finansas ) since independence was proclaimed in 1975 . The vice ministers are also given. So far there have been no state secretaries subordinate to the Ministry of Finance (MF). Although there is a new building, the Treasury Department is in the Government Palace complex in building number 5.
Between 1975 and 2000 there was only one government in exile due to the Indonesian occupation .

Vice Minister
The Vice Minister of Finance assists the Minister of Finance in managing the Ministry's external relations, including relations with international organizations and national bodies, as well as coordinating projects and programs between Timor-Leste and the development partners liaison with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. He oversees the production and publication of official statistics and other documents drawn up by the Ministry of Finance, in particular the general budget books, information for planning and reports on the implementation of the budget. It is his responsibility to coordinate the Ministry of Finance's communication and public relations work and to manage the political affairs as well as the Ministry's liaison with the national parliament and the respective special committees with regard to the legislative proposals and the provision of information in the financial portfolio. The deputy minister also monitors the implementation of the tax reform approved by the Council of Ministers.
