Evelyn Yessenia García Marroquín (born December 29, 1982 in Santa Ana ) is a Salvadoran cyclist who is active on the road and track . She has been one of the most successful cyclists in Central America since the early 2000s.

Athletic career

Evelyn García began cycling in 1997 at the age of 15. She has been active in professional cycling since 2001. After Maureen Kaila (1996 and 2000) she was the second Salvadoran cyclist to take part in the Olympic Games. She competed three times - 2004 , 2008 and 2012 - at the Olympic Games; In 2012 in London she was the flag bearer of El Salvador at the opening ceremony. Her best finish at the 2008 Olympics was a twelfth place in the single pursuit on the track.

In 2013 García won the 20-kilometer individual time trial at the Central American Games , in which she competed in her country's jersey.

In December 2013 it was announced that Evelyn Garcia is pregnant and is expecting twins in April 2014.
