Esports Championship Series Season 6

The Esports Championship Series 6 ( ECS Season 6 for short ) was the sixth season of the Esports Championship Series organized by FACEIT . It started on October 3, 2018 and ended with victory in the final of Astralis' offline finals on November 25, 2018 at Esports Stadium Arlington . Overall, for a prize money of 750,000 $ played.

format

Initially, an online league in double round robin format was played on both continents . The top four teams each qualified for the offline finals in Arlington, with a prize pool of $ 660,000. The eight best teams of the previous season and the two winners of the “Challenger Cup” were eligible to participate in the league. The eight best teams at the end of the season automatically qualified for the ECS Season 7, the last two teams take part in the Challenger Cup of Season 7.

    4thSpacestation signed the entire AZIO team during the season. Since AZIO had not previously signed any contracts with the players, Spacestation was allowed to take over the place in the league, although the players under AZIO have qualified for the league.

    Finals

    The offline finals were held from November 22nd to November 25th, 2018 at Esports Stadium in Arlington. The four best teams in each online league first played a double elimination tournament, with the two best teams in each group being promoted to the playoffs, where the tournament was played in the normal knockout system.
