FACEIT enables its users to compete against other players in the respective game. In friendly competitions, the player can play alone or as a team against randomly selected opponents at any time. After a few victories he is assigned a skill level that is determined by his own Elo. It shifts after a game depending on the result, your own performance and the level of your opponents. In addition to simple competitions, the user can also take part in four FACEIT tournaments per month free of charge. FACEIT also has a five-tier league system in the amateur area depending on the performance group, for whose participation the user has to pay monthly fees to FACEIT. Sometimes the best players in the top league have the opportunity to qualify for the professional "FACEIT Pro League". With successes in leagues and tournaments the player receives so-called "FACEIT Points", which he can exchange for valuables or services.

In addition to amateur competitions, FACEIT also organizes tournaments for professional players. In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , FACEIT held smaller online cups from May 2013 to March 2014. The FACEIT League was held for the first time in spring 2014. The league, which was held as a Europe-wide online tournament in the first edition, expanded to North America and Oceania in 2015. The league finals are now taking place offline. It was held in the past specifically or at events by partner DreamHack . In April 2016 the first season of the Esports Championship Series organized by FACEIT started , which replaced the FACEIT League. The organizers announced prize payouts of $ 3.5 million over the first two seasons.

In addition to its own tournaments, FACEIT regularly organizes competitions in cooperation with other organizers. Thus, the company organized the end of September 2016 in collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment and the Eleague the Overwatch Open , with a budget of US $ 300,000 tournament in the first-person shooter Overwatch .
