Virtus.pro (abbreviated VP, Russian Виртус.про ) is a Russian e-sports - communities which by its success in the disciplines Counter-Strike and Dota 2 was announced. The symbol of the clan is the bear . In October 2015, USM Holdings , founded by billionaire Alischer Burchanowitsch Usmanov , announced that it would invest over 100 million US dollars in Virtus.pro. In 2016, the investment resulted in ESforce Holding Ltd., which manages the organization's business.

Counter-Strike

Counter-Strike 1.6

With the establishment of virtus.pro in November 2003 , the Counter-Strike department of the Moscow clan A-Line was taken over. The bears quickly established themselves. Virtus.pro soon dominated the Russian scene. Over the years it has won over 20 events on Russian soil. At the international level, virtus.pro had its high points in the first few years. At the Electronic Sports World Cup 2004 in Paris , the clan came third. In June of the following year, the $ 25,000 event Acon5 was won. The quintet for both successes was called: Ivan “F_1N” Kochugov, Victor “Sally” Filimonchenko, Konstantin “Groove” Pikiner, Aleksey “LeX” Kolesnikov and Boris “Snoop” Podvalchikov. In autumn 2009 virtus.pro was suspended for one and a half years. The players went over to the clans UNiTED and Iron Will.

After the re-establishment in April 2011, the greatest success was the move into the semi-finals at DreamHack Summer 2012. In January 2013 the 1.6 department was dissolved. In over nine years, 22 Russians and 5 Ukrainians played for the bears. Among them Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko and Ionann "Edward" Sukhariev, who later celebrated success with NaVi . Aleksey "LeX" Kolesnikov was the only player who played professional competitions for virtus.pro for almost the entire time the 1.6 department was in existence.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

In October 2012 , the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive division was created. It existed until July 2013. The players were taken over from the 1.6 department (Emil “kucher” Akhundov) or brought in from other clans (Sergey “Fox” Stolyarov, Mihai “Dosia” Stolyarov). During this time you could u. a. Podium places in the SLTV StarSeries IV-VI, a 3rd place in the Copenhagen Games 2013 and a semi-finals in the DreamHack Summer 2013.

After a six-month break, virtus.pro took over the team of the Polish clan AGAiN. Since then, the CS: GO department has been flying the Polish flag. The team was able to catapult itself back to the top of the world. Proof of this are second places at the Copenhagen Games 2014 and the 2nd season of the Fragbite Masters. During the Polish era, virtus.pro also achieved the greatest success in the history of the clan. At the EMS One Katowice 2014 tournament they beat NiP 2-0 after 16: 9 on de_mirage and 16:10 on de_inferno. Even after EMS One Katowice 2014, VP achieved further successes. In 2014, the Polish quintet won the Gfinity G3 Lan , the eighth season of the Polish EPS and the Acer A-Split Invitational . On the negative side, the lineup took center stage in May 2014 after it became known that some players had betrayed the betting portal csgolounge.com by placing bets on a match that had already been completed. There were no visible consequences.

In July 2016, Virtus.pro won the first season of the Eleague and took home $ 400,000 in prize money. In February 2017 Virtus.pro won the DreamHack Masters Las Vegas. They defeated mousesports and SK Gaming, among others, in the tournament and won $ 200,000 in prize money.

In February 2018 Virtus.pro loaned Michał "MICHU" Müller from Team Kinguin . He replaces Wojtas, who has been on pause since then. On March 22nd of the same year Michał "MICHU" Müller was taken over permanently for the team after a one-month test phase. On June 27, 2018 mousesports took over the player Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski , who was replaced by Piotr "morelz" Taterka . In September 2018 Paweł "byali" Bieliński left the team. On December 13, 2018, the management of Virtus.Pro announced that it would dissolve the CS: GO team, the reason for this being the poor results and the expectations that have not been met in recent months. However, the management returned with a new team on December 24, 2018, consisting of Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski , Paweł "byali" Bieliński , Michał "snatchie" Rudzki , Michał "MICHU" Müller and Mateusz "TOAO" Zawistowski , supported by Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński as a trainer.

Mateusz "TOAO" Zawistowski was moved to the bench on April 25th and has been replaced by Arek "Vegi" Nawojski , who previously played in the Polish team PACT , since April 17th, 2019 .

In December 2019, the team was able to attract attention again after a long dry spell. They reached the shared 3rd - 4th place at cs_summit # 5. At the IEM Katowice 2020, they were one of the first teams to be eliminated in the group stage.

The men's team's greatest success was second place in the XMG Captains Draft 2.0 . Here the team took home over $ 60,000 . After VP separated from their main team in March 2015, the Polar team lost its name in April 2015. On June 30, 2016, this team was released.
