Luminosity Gaming is an esports organization based in Toronto . It was founded in February 2015 by Steve "Buyaka" Maida. The organization achieved its greatest successes in the discipline Counter-Strike: Global Offensive .
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Luminosity Gaming signed the North American players of the Mythic team on February 27, 2015 . Until they were released, there were several changes in this lineup, with the Swedes Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi and Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg playing for Luminosity at times. The greatest success of the North American team was the third place in the North American league of the ESL ESEA Pro League Season 1 . On July 29, 2015, LG fired its old lineup and signed the Brazilian players of the “Keyd Stars” team on the same day. The lineup increasingly established itself on an international level and celebrated the finals at the FACEIT- financed DreamHack Winter 2015 in 2015 . In the first quarter of 2016, the Brazilians made further finals at DreamHack Leipzig 2016 and at the tenth World Championship of the ESL Intel Extreme Masters . At the beginning of April, Luminosity Gaming was the first non-European team to win a major in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive . In the final of the MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016 , the Brazilians won against Natus Vincere . On July 1, 2016, the entire lineup switched to SK Gaming .
At the end of July, Luminosity 2016 presented a new Brazilian team around Bruno “bit” Lima . Lima had to leave Nakano in September 2016 together with Renato "nak". They were replaced by Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves and Bruno "shz" Martinelli.
