ESL Pro League Season 3

The ESL Pro League Season 3 was the third season of the ESL Pro League . It started on February 9, 2016 with the game Astralis against Natus Vincere and ended with the final of the offline finals on May 15, 2016 in London's The O₂ arena.

EU League

The European league was replenished in advance by FaZe Clan , whose lineup reached the semifinals of DreamHack Cluj-Napoca 2015 and replaced the relegated Penta Sports team . The winners of the European league were the ninjas in pajamas . The Swedes only dropped points against fnatic , G2 Esports and Natus Vincere . In addition to NiP, the Astralis team, newly founded by the former players of Team SoloMid , the winner of the preseason fnatic and G2 Esports reached the offline finals. The German team mousesports ranked in the lower midfield of the table. Last place went to the Polish team Virtus.pro .

    NA League

    With the Renegades team, a team from Australia was invited to take part in the EPL for the first time in the run-up to the season . The team reached a place in the middle of the table. The top position was achieved by Luminosity Gaming , which relegated the resurgent Cloud 9 team to second place. The Canadian team OpTic Gaming and Team Liquid worked out the remaining two spots for the offline finals. In the lower third of the table, the teams Counter Logic Gaming and compLexity , which were significantly higher in the previous season, settled down . Team KKona was last in the table .

    Playoffs and relegation

    The two champions of the second-rate EU Premier League Season 21 were determined for the first time via two offline qualifiers. You went straight to the EPL. The two defeated finalists play in the relegation against the last of the EPL. Since KKona withdrew from the game after the end of the season, their relegation opponent Ze Pug Godz rose directly.
