Jesper "JW" Wecksell (born February 23, 1995 ) is a Swedish e-athlete who became known through his success in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive discipline with the fnatic team .

Career

Wecksell celebrated his first successes at Epsilon eSports , where he played from December 2012 to July 2013. With this team, the Swede , who plays under the nickname JW , achieved second place at the 2013 Swedish Championships and at the DreamHack Summer 2013. In August 2013, JW was signed to fnatic . The first major success among the new team was winning the first major , the DreamHack Winter 2013 . Fnatic surprisingly beat the ninjas in pajamas in the final. After Freddy "KRiMZ" Johansson and Olof "olofm" Kajbjer joined the team in June 2014, his team was finally at the top of the world. After fnatic failed in the final against the ninjas in pajamas at ESL One Cologne 2014 , Wecksell and his team won the Electronic Sports World Cup and the FACEIT finals , the Fragbite Masters and the ESEA League towards the end of the year . In 2015, JW won over 60,000 US dollars at the three major tournaments ESL One Katowice 2015 , ESL One Cologne 2015 and ESL ESEA Pro League Season 1 alone .

On August 15, 2016, he and his teammates Robin “flusha” Rönnquist and Freddy “KRiMZ” Johansson moved to Godsent , which had been founded a few weeks earlier by former teammate Markus “pronax” Wallsten . The team qualified for the Eleague Major: Atlanta 2017 , dropped out in the preliminary round. Wecksell returned to fnatic in February 2017.

In March 2018, Wecksell won the World Championship of the twelfth season of the Intel Extreme Masters and the second finals World Electronic Sports Games with fnatic .
