Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer (born January 31, 1992 ) is a Swedish e-athlete who became known for his success in the discipline Counter-Strike: Global Offensive . He currently plays for the US organization FaZe Clan .
Career
Kajbjer was already active in Counter-Strike 1.6 with smaller clans , with whom he was able to celebrate some successes at regional events. The Swede , who played under the nickname olofmeister , only achieved international attention after switching to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive . In September 2013, Kajbjer was accepted by the LGB eSports organization , with which he and his team were able to qualify for the DreamHack Winter 2013 . The lineup survived the group stage and was eliminated in the quarterfinals against the ninjas in pajamas . In the second major , the EMS One Katowice 2014 , olofmeister and his team reached the semi-finals and failed there because of the eventual winner Virtus.pro . In May 2014, olofmeister and his team separated from LGB eSports and from then on looked for new sponsors under the name TEAMGLOBAL .
While TEAMGLOBAL was falling apart, Kajbjer and Freddy "KRiMZ" Johansson signed a contract with fnatic at the end of June 2014 . After the new quintet, consisting of Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer , Freddy “KRiMZ” Johansson , Robin “flusha” Rönnquist , Markus “pronax” Wallsten and Jesper “JW” Wecksell , the new lineup established itself among the world's best. While olofmeister had to admit defeat to the ninjas in pajamas at ESL One Cologne 2014 , he and his team achieved first place in the top leagues of Star Ladder , Fragbite Masters and ESEA in autumn 2014 . The lineup also won the Electronic Sports World Cup 2014. At DreamHack Winter 2014 , olofmeister caused the excitement of the tournament on the decisive third map de_overpass in the quarter-finals against the eventual tournament winner Team LDLC . With the help of a robber ladder and two of his teammates, Kajbjer was able to "boost" his game model to an elevated position, from which he could illegally overlook large parts of the map and thus easily eliminate his opponents. The game should first be repeated; However, fnatic let Team LDLC win. In 2015, olofmeister made a significant contribution to the consistently good results of his team. At the ESL One Katowice 2015 , Kajbjer achieved an outstanding 50 kills with the Tec-9 pistol alone and, together with his other questions, helped his team to win this major. Although the weapon was soon weakened by Valve , olofmeister was also able to show a positive K / D value in the tournaments of summer 2015 thanks to its all-round qualities. In the first half of 2015 alone, Kajbjer was able to record over 50,000 US dollars in prize money and a dozen wins in noteworthy tournaments. The second half of 2015 also started successfully for olofmeister with the victory of his team at the ESL ESEA Pro League Season 1 Finals and at ESL One Cologne 2015 .
As a result of a wrist injury, Kajbjer took a break from April to June 2016.
Kajbjer has been playing for FaZe Clan since August 2017 . In January 2018 the Swede reached the final of the Eleague Major: Boston 2018 with this team . In 2017, Kajbjer won the finals of the fourth season of the Esports Championship Series by FACEIT or the ESL One New York 2017 with the European lineup .
In May 2020, he announced a break from professional esports.
