For the first time, the organizations Counter Logic Gaming , Winterfox , Selfless Gaming and Splyce were allowed to keep their starting place in the ESL Pro League despite a majority change in the lineup. This internationalized the North American league. While Winterfox was allowed to take part in the league with the Australian quintet who previously played under Team Immunity , Team Splyce signed two European players as well as the Mongolian talent Enkhtaivan "Machinegun" Lkhagv. At the top of the league, Cloud 9 dominated with just one loss. In addition to the teams OpTic Gaming , Team Liquid, who already qualified for the playoffs in the preseason and the SK Gaming quintet, which was still playing for Luminosity Gaming in the preseason , NRG eSports and the Brazilian newcomer Immortals reached the finals. At the end of the field, the eUnited team was placed , which was relegated immediately.
