Fatih "gob b" Dayik (born July 10, 1987 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former German - Turkish e-athlete who is known for his success in the Counter-Strike 1.6 discipline . With the release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in 2012, he switched to the latest installment in the series. He is the first German CS: GO player to sign a full-time professional contract. Despite numerous successes and a long career, he never managed to achieve a major title.

Career

After Fatih "gob b" Dayik had already been active in the Electronic Sports League for several smaller clans in Counter-Strike 1.6 since 2003 , mousesports signed the German-Turkish for the first time in July 2007 as a result of attractive performances at the Electronic Sports World Cup 2007 with ID Gaming known. After a few successes, such as second place in the eleventh season of the ESL Pro Series , 2008 was gob b's most successful year. Two Intel Extreme Masters tournaments contributed to this, from which he took home a total of 15,000 US dollars . At the Intel Extreme Masters II in March 2008, Fatih "gob b" Dayik and his team defeated the South Korean team eSTRO in the final . A good six months later he was able to win the Extreme Masters Season III in Dubai with mousesports after defeating the Polish lineup MeetYourMakers around Filip "Neo" Kubski . From 2008 to 2010, gob b contributed to six consecutive titles of mousesports at the German championships . In January 2010 he won another major tournament at the Intel Extreme Masters IV - European Championship Finals . His team took away a $ 25,000 win prize. At the end of November 2010 Fatih Dayik announced his withdrawal from the mousesports lineup for the first time in order to concentrate more on his studies. Nevertheless, in December 2010 he teamed up again with the players of his former clan GEELIFE , which joined the ESC Gaming organization over the Christmas holidays of the year , with whom he came second behind mousesports at the EPS Summer 11. In June 2011, the German-Turkish man was reintegrated into mousesports. In his second time at mouz, he and the team won two further championship titles at EPS Winter 11 and EPS Spring 2012 . On an international level, he and his team finished third at the Electronic Sports World Cup 2011. After the CS: 1.6 team at mousesports left in spring 2012, Fatih Dayik initially withdrew from e-sports.

After switching to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , gob b and the zuom team took part in the qualifier for the Electronic Sports World Cup 2012 without success . After not taking part in any significant tournament for almost six months, mousesports announced in April 2013 that the German-Turkish man was playing at the EPS Spring 13 as a stand-in. After the modest third place there, gob b was dropped again. He then played for the myKPV team at the EPS Summer. In December 2013 Fatih Dayik was accepted to mousesports again. He won the 25th German championship with mousesports . In the course of this success, the cooperation with mouz lasted until the EPS Spring 14 this time , where the roster had to admit defeat to Team WildFire in the final. After a further four-month rest period for the German-Turkish, gob b joined the Team Alternate roster in September 2014 . The promising team, which among other things took part in DreamHack Stockholm 2014, was overshadowed on November 17, 2014 by the ESEA -Ban of their player Simon "smn" Beck. Team Alternate was disqualified from EPS Winter 14 and gob b caught the eye of mousesports again. After initial small successes, for example at the 99damage Arena , Fatih “gob b” Dayik signed a full-time professional contract with mousesports at the beginning of 2015 . He is the first German full-time player in the discipline Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Mousesports achieved under their announcer gob b in addition to winning the ESL Spring Championship 2015 and the ESL Summer Championship 2015 . With fourth place at the ESEA Season 18 LAN , the semi-finals at the Gfinity Summer Masters I 2015 or second place at the CEVO CS: GO Season 8 LAN Finals , the team under Dayik also scored international successes. On December 16, 2015, mousesports parted ways with Dayik.

Dayik then moved to America and was signed by the NRG eSports organization in January 2016 until December 2016. After NRG eSports parted ways with Dayik and the players Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninić and Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz, the three of them opened their own team at the beginning of 2017 with Berlin International Gaming and completed it with mousesports - leaving Johannes “nex” Maget and Attax - Departure Kevin "keev" Bartholomäus. On August 2, 2019, Fatih "gob b" Dayik finally ended his professional playing career at Berlin International Gaming at the age of 32.

Since December 2019 he has been head coach of the Berlin International Gaming youth team . In January 2020 he moved to the position of Head of CS: GO.

On April 27, 2020, Fatih “gob b” Dayik was named “Player of the Year” at the German Computer Game Award.
