Esserden is a district of the city of Rees in the Kleve district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1969 Esserden was an independent municipality in what was then Rees County .
geography
Esserden lies to the west of the Rees core city and is separated from it by federal highway 67 . The former municipality of Esserden had an area of 4.3 km². In the Esserden district there is not only extensive agricultural land but also the Mahnensee .
history
Esserden was first mentioned in a document in 899. Since the 19th century Esserden formed a rural community in the mayorry Rees-Land (since 1928 Amt Rees Land ) in the Rees district in the Düsseldorf administrative district . On July 1, 1969, Esserden was incorporated into the city of Rees by the Rees District Reorganization Act . According to the main statute of the city of Rees, Esserden is one of the eight localities of the city of Rees.
