The Estádio do Mar is located in the Portuguese city ​​of Matosinhos in the Porto district , Região Norte . The stadium was opened on January 1, 1964, has 12,500 seats and is mainly used for football. In the opening game, Leixões SC and Benfica Lisbon faced each other, which Benfica won 4-0. The arena was renovated in 2007. The main and opposite stands are covered. While the curve to the left of the main grandstand has seats, there are parking spaces in the curve to the right. There is another parking lot behind the main stand and there are three training fields around the stadium.
