The Estay Rock (originally Islote Ministro Fidel Estay Cortéz in Chile , later Islote Fidel Estay ) is a cliff in the Bransfield Strait off the north coast of the Trinity Peninsula in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . The rock rises 2.9 km west-southwest of Toro Point .

It was named in 1947 by participants in the 2nd Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1947–1948). It is named after the Chilean politician Fidel Segundo Estay Cortés (1887 - unknown), who at that time was a minister in the cabinet under President Gabriel González Videla . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names confirmed the English translation of the Chilean name in 1964.
