Valdmiro Tualungo Paulo Lameira (born September 22, 1995 in Luanda ), called Estrela , is a Portuguese football player.

The defensive midfielder has been under contract with APOEL Nicosia since the beginning of 2016 .

Player career

youth

Born in Angola, Estrela played for various youth teams of the Portuguese first division club Benfica Lisbon from 2006 to 2014 . With the U-19 team, the so-called Juniors , he took part in the 2013/14 UEFA Youth League and reached the final with the team. He scored a goal in the quarterfinal match against Manchester City . He then signed a contract with Benfica until 2020.

Change to the USA

On July 8, 2014, he and his teammate Rafael Ramos moved to Orlando City in the third US division, the USL Pro . He signed a contract for three and a half years. This transfer resulted from a partnership between Benfica and the Florida team . At the end of the 2014 season, the USL Orlando City franchise ceased operations and started in Major League Soccer under the same name from 2015 . The partnership with Benfica was taken over and Estrela received a new contract with the MLS franchise.

He made his USL Pro debut on August 23, 2014 against the Richmond Kickers . Here he also scored his first goal as a professional. In total, he was involved in six games in the season.

National team

In October 2014 he was appointed to the Portuguese U-20 team. There he made his debut on November 17, 2014 in a friendly against England . In May 2015 he was nominated for the U-20 squad for the 2015 U-20 World Cup .
