Etah is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
Etah lies in the north Indian plain between the rivers of the Yamuna and the Ganges . The city is located 75 km northeast of Agra . Etah is the administrative center of the district of the same name .
The national highway NH 91 runs through Etah, which connects Aligarh (65 km northwest) with Kannauj (135 km southeast). The city is connected to the railway network.
As a city, Etah has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . It is divided into 25 wards . At the 2011 census, Etah had 118,517 inhabitants.
