Ettore Fecchi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ettore Fecchi (born February 5, 1911 in Rome , † May 24, 1972 ibid) was an Italian film journalist , producer and director .

Life

Fecchi worked as a journalist, editor for film magazines such as "L'Eco del Cinema" and as editor of "Centro Stelle" and "Intermezzo". As such, he was known for his passionate contributions and violent invectives against directors who - from his point of view - pursued the commercial aspects of a production as the most important motive. Paradoxically, his own films as a director and screenwriter were purely market-oriented products, several of which were made in the wake of the Mondo film wave . As a producer, he was involved in a handful of more interesting films with his “Metropolis Film”.
