The Etzelsbachtalbrücke is a 523 m long bridge on the BAB 38 .

The structure is located north of Wingerode between the Heilbad Heiligenstadt and Leinefelde-Worbis motorway junctions in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia . It spans the Etzelsbach valley with a water protection area and a farm road with ten bridge fields at a maximum height of 45 m. The overpass with two separate superstructures was built between 2000 and 2003 at a cost of around 15 million euros.

Substructures

The reinforced concrete pillars have a full hexagonal cross-section that tapers upwards with a 1:30 taper. The pier heads have a widened cross-section to accommodate the bearings . The pillar heights are between 15 m and 40 m.

Superstructures

Box-girder cross-section of a prestressed concrete bridge

The two adjacent superstructures of the prestressed concrete bridge are continuous girders with a box girder cross-section and a constant construction height of 3.7 m. The prestressing consists of a mixed construction with internal and external tendons .
The total span for the 10-span bridge is 35.0 m + 45.0 m + 3 × 50.0 m + 4 × 62.0 m + 45.0 m = 523.0 m

execution

similar feed armor to another bridge

The bridge was built with a 770 tonne and 128 m long prop scaffolding, which was supported on temporary support brackets on both sides, which were anchored via niches in the pier and horizontal tendons. The trusses of the feed scaffold had a height of 4 m.
