Adoration

The veneration of the Eucharius of Trier is attested from 455, the legend can be proven in the 8th century. Gregor von Tours called him a "protector of the city of Trier from a plague epidemic". After that he is said to have been a pupil of Peter himself, who sent him to Gaul together with Maternus as a messenger of faith . He woke up his companion Maternus from a sarcophagus with the staff of Peter . The Trier tradition tells that he overthrew a statue of Venus and put today's market cross in its place.

On the old Trier city seal he receives next to St. Peter the key to the city (lat. Urbs).

The churches of St. Eucharius (Sommerach) and St. Eucharius (Belg) are dedicated to him.

His sacred attributes are dragon , hellhound and devil .
