List of the bishops of Trier
This list contains the bishops and archbishops of the Diocese of Trier . Due to the sometimes very chaotic balance of power, especially in the Middle Ages, the list is not completely clear. The number of bishops to this day fluctuates between 100 and 103 depending on the counting method.
The (arch) bishops of Trier were one of the electors in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation ; their domain was therefore called Kurtrier .
