At the Art Nouveau rectory, built in 1909, the half-timbered structure was exposed again; the baroque parish hall, built in 1741, got its historical appearance back. Even the 12 m deep well in the rectory has been renewed. For this, the parish received the State Monument Preservation Prize in 2016. The acknowledgment states: “Many have contributed to this, but my praise would be incomplete without explicitly referring to the pastor of the Martinskirche, to pastor Prof. Dr. Joachim Conrad. The scope and quality of the valuations became significantly more important for the preservation of historical monuments, which he underlines impressively through numerous scientific contributions to the building and its history. ”In 2002 Joachim Conrad became a major co-founder and first president of the Ev.
